Recent Stocks Tracker Widget (open-so Reviews
Too many times an upgrade caused me to lose my custom widget. Latest update the transparent formatting was lost. Not the best testing before release. Also suggested an enhancement request to rename stock symbols to real text. No response. Uninstalled widget. Months later reinstalled to try again. App header connection indicator just spins and spins as if it is trying to refresh. Once again cleared cache and data, lost everything, and it still does the same thing. 3.9.803
Every time I get an update to the app I hope it’ll make my stocks grow… Still missing that functionality 🙂 Seriously though, does exactly what it says. I have a widget with all my stocks taking up an entire screen, and it enables me to see how things are going at a glance. As others have pointed out, widget management is horrible (and buggy)… But you only need to set it up once and never touch it again, so not that big a deal.
Doesn’t Make Sense. I do not understand why the “portfolios” cannot be used to create a widget a second time. If I add a new widget to the screen, it creates a new portfolio. It cannot create from an existing one. Also, tends to just fail at creating the widget once the stocks are selected. Nice-looking but appears to have holes in the programming. More difficult than simple.
This App covers my modest needs quite well- only issue I’ve found is that when a company performs a stock split, the App doesn’t reflect it.. as a result, it shows my position as being brutally underwater. I’m reluctant to manually change this, for fear of losing my purchase history and average price.
Excellent widget. 5 stars if you add code that will change the color of the graph to green when there is a gain. For example, if the user selects the 2 week timeframe and if the stock price has increased in value during that timeframe the chart will turn green. If the stock price has decreased in value during the selected timeframe the graph will turn red. The same logic will apply if the user selects other timeframes i.e. 1 day, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months ect.
The app works fine. Widgets sometimes bug out during creation, where the app knows about the widget, but it’s not on home screen and cannot be deleted. It would be nice, if the widget font size could be set independent of the system font size.
I like this app, unfortunately it has long periods of when ‘the refresh fails’ which makes it rather unreliable. Now it has been failing for over 3 days, just like that with no reason and nothing that I do helps (reinstalling the widget, the app, cleaning, new portfolio etc). I wish it was bullet proof and always fetched the data, otherwise when the market moves and I can’t rely on it to show me the data consistently, the whats the point of this?
I’ve been using this for 2 years now and It does what it ment for. No BS. Straight to points built in news reader is a plus. I have no problem of adding new stocks, such an efficient software! never fails to update yet it doesn’t take much ram/cpu resources. But I’ll have to say, you’ve got plenty of clueless comments. oh, they were hilarious 😂
Simple and reliable stock tracker. A couple of issues I noticed are that every other time you open the app, the refresh fails and I’m forced to reopen the app. Secondly, at the start of a trading day, the app will calculate then gain/loss percentage on the previous days open price, not the close price. This usually corrects itself after 15-30min. As a suggestion i would say that it would be very handy to add a daily gain/loss number/percentage at the top (addition to the present total gain/loss)
Easy to add stocks to portfolio. Good representation with % gain vales for each stock. Total holding value shown is wrong.!
